Internal Complaints Committee & Women Empowerment Cell

Prathyusha Engineering College is strictly adhering to the Government guidelines for the prevention of sexual harassment of women at work place. A committee has been constituted to ensure that women are protected against sexual harassment at work places of the institute. The committee ensures insulation against the false complaints on anybody in the institution.
The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 14, 2013 is a legislative act in India that seeks to protect women from sexual harassment at their place of work.

Objectives

1.Establishing a secure environment to prevent instances of sexual harassment.
2.Cultivating a social and psychological atmosphere that fosters awareness of sexual harassment in its various manifestations.
3.Ensuring an environment free from gender-based discrimination.
4.Providing a safe space devoid of sexual harassment.
5.Formulating guidelines and standards for policies against sexual harassment.
6.Developing principles and procedures to address instances of sexual harassment.
7.Conducting gender sensitization awareness programs.
8.Addressing cases of discrimination and sexual harassment promptly to offer support services to victims.
9.Delivering tailored awareness training sessions to management, internal complaints committee, and employees as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

1.The complainant must submit a written and signed complaint or register a complaint at the website to the Committee Chairman.
2.The Chairman will arrange a personal meeting with the complainant, typically within a week of receiving the written complaint.
3.Committee members will review the complaint.
4.Cases falling outside the committee’s jurisdiction will be referred to the Director/Secretary/Chairman of the management.
5.The Committee will submit a report and recommend necessary actions to the management promptly.
6.If legal action is necessary, the complaint will be forwarded to the police with the assistance of a legal advocate from the committee.
